Transformers

Optimus Prime
Braden is a kid who has never been into superheroes.  If you asked him to name his favorite super hero, I'm pretty sure he would tell you Thomas the train.  Or Percy.  Or Henry.  Or Toby.  In fact since he was two, he has been consumed with trains, trains, more trains and cars and trucks.  Pretty much if it has wheels, we are guaranteed that it will be a hit with Braden. The only other thing he likes are blocks and anything he can take apart and rebuild.
This past Christmas I found the complete first season of the Transformers cartoon that Brad used to watch when he was a little boy.  I gave it to Brad and Braden for Christmas and while Brad was totally excited, Braden wasn't that impressed.  However, a few weeks ago I pulled it out for him and he is hooked.  It seems to be the perfect toy for a boy who loves anything with wheels and building.  The other night he actually asked if they make a Transformer that is a train and if they don't they should!

One feet, Two feet, If Only She Had Two Left Feet

Oh Emersyn, why do you have to grow up so fast?  Is it wrong of me to want to chop your sweet little legs off at the knees so you won't be walking already? Only kidding...maybe.
Yeah, she is pretty awesome.  She knows it, because she claps for herself.

And I'm pretty sure there is no stopping her now.

Three times in two months...

Are we lucky or what?  We got to enjoy another visit with Chad, Erica and my most adorable nephew, Walker!

Hey Gorgeous

Parker has loved Emersyn since the minute he laid eyes on her.  We were worried that he would be jealous or confused or sad.  He was so little when we brought her home.  But all of our worry was for nothing.  Because he has been crazy about her from the start. She is the first person he looks for when he wakes up- morning or afternoon.  She is the one who can make him turn to mush.  And she is pretty crazy about him too.
I've always known how much he adores her, but as I've been making Emersyn's first year slide show for her birthday it has really become evident.  This morning when we went to wake her up he climbed on the side of her crib and said, "Hey gorgeous"  just like Brad and I do when we wake her up!  He kept saying it over and over and it was simply adorable.

Parker Goes to School

Parker started school this morning...and boy was he excited!  Until he figured out that he doesn't get to ride the bus!  He kept saying, "My bus.  School."  And I had to explain to him that I have to drive him to preschool and he said, "No Mommy.  School bus to school."  Yeah, he was a little upset when he realized the bus wasn't coming!

After breakfast and pictures, we got Emersyn up and dressed and headed to school.  He was a little quiet on the way until he realized that we weren't bringing his paci and he told me to turn around and go back home to get it....which I didn't do...and he survived!

At school I was trying to take pictures and he kept saying, "Come on Mommy.  Come on."  He was really excited and ready to get to his class.  When he got to his room he hung his backpack up and then went to play.  Then he stopped and walked back to me and said "Hold you Mommy (Hold me mommy)" and teared up a little.  After I picked him up and gave him kisses he hopped down and said, "Bye Mommy" and never looked back!

Would you go already?  I'm fine.  Really I am.  Please go.
When I picked him up at noon he was sitting at a table playing with playdoh and was happy to see Emersyn and me.  He grabbed his backpack and headed for the door!

He Never Wants to Leave Us, Except to Go to Kindergarten.

This morning Braden woke up super excited and a little sleepy!

I fixed his favorite breakfast of muffins, bacon and chocolate milk.

He got dressed and took pictures for his first day.

Brad and the kids and I took him to school.  He got nervous.

He found his seat and took a picture with his teacher, Ms. Ruff.

He sits beside Faith.

We thought he was ok, but he freaked out a little when we were leaving.

He came home full of smiles, which made me really happy.

He told me he loved centers.  He got to go to art.  He ate all of his chips and watermelon and only one bite of his peanut butter sandwich.  He went to the playground and played on the wings and it was really hot, but he still wanted to play longer.  He has a big notebook.  He loves his teacher.  Oh, and when I asked him what he wants to be when he grows up he said he never wants to leave us.  He doesn't want to grow up or get a job or ever leave this house- said with conviction AND tears.

A Trip to Oxford

Friday morning, my mom and I loaded the three kids into the packed down Expedition and set the GPS for our destination: Oxford, Mississippi aka the city where the cutest little redhead lives with the best brother and sister in law in the world.  To say we were excited was an understatement.  After a stop in Leeds, AL at the outlet mall and several stops to feed Emersyn, we finally arrived.  We were all ready to get out of the car and see Chad, Erica and Walker.  It was such a fun weekend and here are the highlights.
