The Next Picasso....

Brad had to work Saturday morning so Braden and I spent the morning shopping for Emma (Braden's lady love) a birthday gift for her 1st birthday. He was so great while we were shopping. He just sat in his stroller looking around like "mommy, how long is this going to take?". When Brad got home we headed to Emma's birthday party. She had a ladybug theme which was so cute! The party was on a farm and I forgot my camera, much to Brad's chagrin since he had to listen to me whine about not getting to take awesome pictures! There were turkeys, roosters, hens, ducks, and even a horse on the farm. It was soooo hot and the horse was standing in front of the water trough throwing water on his body and Braden thought that it was the funniest thing ever!

After the party, we went back home and my mom (Braden's Grrr as he so lovingly calls her) and my Aunt Joy came over. My Aunt Joy brought my cousin's son Ace. He is three weeks older than Braden so they are a perfect age to entertain eachother. The boy's played with some of the riding toys in the yard for a little while, but then I brought out the sidewalk chalk. Braden and I have been practicing coloring for several weeks now.....I take that back...I have been coloring for several weeks now while Braden has been either trying to eat the crayons or walk around and scatter them everywhere. (we are using the Crayola Beginnings crayons and they are great for little hands!) But he was really interested in the sidewalk chalk and started coloring! I have deemed him the next Picasso, however it looks more like Jackson Pollock! What do you think?!

In the Garden

Every year my dad plants a big garden with lots of great plants and since Braden came along he has been waiting for Braden to show some sort of interest in his garden. This past week he did! My dad said that while he was working in his garden Wednesday morning, Braden was digging up the squash that he had already planted! Of course my dad didn't care, he was just excited that Braden was with him in the garden!

On Tuesday afternoon, my dad turned the sprinkler on to water the garden and Braden was very interested in the swirling water that came from a very odd looking object that he had never seen before. He inched closer and closer to the sprinkler until he was completely soaked!

Playing in the Pool

Last Friday I decided to take Braden to the library for the Baby Talk. When Braden and I arrived, we found out that the Baby Talk is on a break until the end of May. Now to truly understand my frustration you need to have some background on the situtation.....Braden and I have been trying to make it to the Baby Talk every week for the past few months. Every week either he has been sick, I've been sick or he has needed to go down for a nap right before it was time to leave. So Friday I had it all planned out. I got him up earlier than usual and we played for a little while and then I got him all dressed to go and then laid him down for a nap. I woke him up from his nap (and he was in the BEST mood) and he was already dressed so we headed to the Baby Talk and then we found out that it was no longer running! It is on a break until the end of May.

So....we went to Wal-Mart and then headed home for a dip in the kiddy pool! Braden loved the pool so much! He splashed and threw all of the balls out and then climbed out to throw all of the balls back in! It ended up being a fabulous day after all!

Digging in the Dirt

Over spring break, Braden and I spent one afternoon playing at Ethan and Emma's house. Braden loves the great outdoors and he especially loved playing in Ethan and Emma's sandbox (or rather the dirt outside of it!)!
